Jim Whyte, Executive Director

Jim demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm to work with the residents and businesses of the Central West End to create the safest possible environment.  He has over 20 years of service with the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department, in which he worked in the 2nd, 6th and 7th districts as well as stints in homicide, violent crime task force, crime suppression, and hostage rescue.  Jim retired as a Lieutenant in 2009 to take a position in Iraq assisting the military in the prosecution of insurgents. He and his family live in the Lindenwood Park neighborhood in south St. Louis City. The NSI Board of Directors is proud to have Jim Whyte as the director of its organization and is confident that he will continue the initiative’s successes in streamlining efforts, being a portal for reliable information, and driving down crime.

Sarah joined the NSI August of 2010 while studying Criminal Justice at The University of Missouri St. Louis. As the Deputy Director, Sarah maintains administrative duties, prepares crime analyze reports and works closely with the SLMPD and supplemental patrols.

Carolyn joined the NSI February of 2014 while pursuing her Master’s in Social Work and Public Administration at Saint Louis University.  Carolyn grew up in the Bevo Mill neighborhood here in St. Louis and is very passionate about her work. She is interested in the criminal justice system and its influences on the community.  She is committed to increase neighborhood empowerment and will be actively supporting and participating in neighborhood and resident advocacy through outreach and involvement.
