Suspect arrested in Central West End attack on jogger
St. Louis Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a September 28 attack in the Central West End.
A woman was jogging on N. Newstead Avenue near Forest Park Avenue when a man sucker punched her in the face in an unprovoked attack, leaving her with a black eye. Fox 2 News ran a story on this incident, bringing attention to this senseless and disturbing crime.
Robert Schremp, a member of the St. Louis Fire Department and guide for The City's Finest, LLC security company, located the suspect and notified police. Schremp was able to capture photos of the man with his phone before he eluded police. Those images, along with NSI security camera footage, helped police identify and arrest the suspect. He is charged with third-degree assault.
